We are considering extending our trip through the end of June so we can attend this popular event we saw posted. I mean, who doesn't want to see two mountain men grapple with special leather shorts in a Schwingfest?

Breakfast Buffet
It's not the same as buffets in the US. We filled up on fruit, yogurt & pretzel sandwiches...

Last Romp through Rothenburg
Stacia & the girls enjoyed another stroll through the old city & shops while Cannon & I got up on the city wall to climb around the castle keeps & narrow passages...

Wurzburg Palace
We took the tour of this opulent palace of the 1700s which has 360 rooms; we passed through about 10 of them. Most of it was demolished in the March 16, 1945 bombing by the allied forces just before WWII ended. The renovation took from the end of the war until 1987, costing about 20 million dollars. No pictures allowed on the tour. The gardens are nice & although we relaxed in the sun for a while, we might have missed the highway accident if we had left sooner...

Highway Hangout
We were delayed two hours on the highway with everyone else going from Wurzburg to Frankfurt. A beer truck had wrecked & most of the glass bottles had spilled & broken on the pavement. We were stopped for about an hour and a half, then it took another 30 minutes to merge to one lane after all the glass had been swept off. While waiting, we got out & stretched & we rummaged through all our food bags & finished off pretty much everything we had.
