Sunday, Apr. 9 (week 11 / day 77) church in AndorraSpa

Andorra
Andorra is a small country wedged in between France & Spain in the heights of the Pyrennes Mountains. The official language is Catalan although many citizens also speak Spanish, English, French & Portuguese as well. Poverty is almost non-existent as the whole country is practically an upscale resort like Park City, UT. We thought we'd spend Sunday there hiking around, but it turns out we had a great experience with the small church group that is just being reactivated.

I went to the church building in La Seu d'Urgell 10 minutes down the road and met the missionaries there. They had a meeting that morning but told me about the 3pm meeting they drive to in Andorra so we met up at 2:15 & caravanned across the border. The border police only rarely check passports so your just drive through the customs building slowly with passports ready if you're stopped. Elder Barron (from California) joined us in our van to help us get there in case we got separated from the others. They were going to buy bread for the sacrament but we offered our baguette to save some time. When we got there, they had forgotten to bring the small sacrament cups so they used some large plastic cups.

Elder & Sister Fowers are a senoir missionary couple assigned to run the branch in La Seu, Spain & recently given permission to start the reactivation effort in Andorra after a decade without the church there. We enjoyed the testimony meeting where just about every adult got up to speak. Elder Fowers translated for Stacia. What a special meeting to be in.  ...
