A Much Needed Leisurely Morning
We slept in until about 9am & slowly got up but had nothing to eat so Stacia & I went out to forage for food. There are a couple mini-marts down the street, more like micro-marts as Kyra later called them, so we picked out what few items the kids might eat: half-size servings of coco-puff cereal, little boxes of milk, yogurt cups & coconut crackers. We definitely need to find a larger market!

Uber To Church
We used Uber for the first time today! We arranged for 2 cars to get to church & since they don't have UberXL which provides larger vehicles. We weren't sure if 1 or 2 (or neither) cars were going to show up since we don't know exactly how it works. The kids were hoping for a no-show but they both showed up on time; 2 local drivers in their economy cars with little English ability. Doesn't matter with Uber, they have your destination pinpointed on the Uber GPS & simply drive you there! It was about $1.50 per car.
Three good reasons about church in Chiang Mai: The chapel is nice & big, you might show up right at the end of the meeting (district conference today at earlier scheduled time) &... you just might meet friends from back home, the Carrillos!!! Macey, their oldest, finished her mission in Thailand about 7 months ago so they're back for spring break to visit. We visited with them for about an hour while Cannon got to play with their boys. We met up with them later at their hotel & the boys swam in the pool. We each knew we were in Thailand but the chances of meeting up were slim. It made for a super fun day!

A Day in Downtown Chiang Mai
After visiting at church, we filled up on street food & spent a couple hours touring the biggest wats/temples in Chiang Mai which were just down the street. This experience was 10x better than the Grand Palace visit in Bangkok, Buddhist monks abound, tranquility & respect are the rule & more space between temples without the pushing crowds!
